Hurricane Katrina
In the fall of 2005, Hurricane Katrina ravaged severed southern areas including the city of New Orleans, becoming the worst natural disaster in the history of this country. Almost three years later and not much has changed for many of the people displaced survivors. Please join me in helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Here are seven things you can do to help:

1 – Keep the people affected, our government and all of the people who are part of the rebuilding efforts in your prayers.

2 – Keep the dialogue about what happened there active. It may seem like yesteryear's news, but to far too many people, the devastation is fresh and ongoing.

3 – Consider volunteering with the rebuilding effort through organizations like Habitat for Humanity. Even regular business and leisure trips to the area will help stimulate the local economy.

4 – If you can't go yourself, sponsor or support someone who can go.

5 -Write your local newspapers, magazines, and radio and television stations and let them know that you don't want them to forget about what happened and what is still happened to especially the poorest people and communities there.

6 - Write to the president and to your senators and congress representatives. Tell them not to abandon the poor people who want to go back to their home towns. Ask them what has been done to insure that this will not happen again.

7 - Spread the word about what you are doing, and get your family and friends involved.

Thank you,
Peace and Blessings,
