T'Keyah Two Cents |
|
A
lot of people I love died this year. Some
I knew well. Some not so well. Some I
never met. Some died after brave struggles
with long illnesses; some without warning,
and at least one carefully and by choice.
When someone I love dies I get on the
phone. I call other people who loved them
to share my grief and offer my comfort.
I call other people I love to let them
know I love them… When some I love
dies, I have a good cry. I cry for them
just in case they didn’t |

get around to doing or saying something
or because I’m not sure they knew I would…
just in case the thing they may not have gotten
God/Goddess in some way. I pray for me so that
day is; that with each visit death pays to knowing
that my time in this life must not just be |

important. I cry for me because I will miss them,
When someone I love dies, I pray. I pray for them
around to doing or saying would bother
I will remember each day, how precious each someone

shows
up at my door I can stroll out happily with
many memories, and few regrets. When someone
I love dies, I celebrate. I celebrate that I
lived on the same earth in the same time as
someone so great, or not so great; who I knew
well, or never met; who fought to stay alive
or gave up fighting; and who touched my heart
and created the memories that will sustain me
after they have gone … Perhaps now, why
not now, is a fine time for all of us - on behalf
of those we love - to make a few phone calls,
have a good cry, say a prayer and celebrate.
But that’s just my two cents… |
